I'm Shanna, I'll share a little about myself.
Short & Sweet-
I live in Marshalltown, IA with my husband Damien and our two children. I provide various types of photo and video services in Iowa. Most all of my sessions are custom created and flexible. If you're interested in discussing a future session, i'd love to hear your ideas! I like to get to know each other a little before we meet and love to offer private viewings after your work is processed (my favorite part)!
Long and also sweet-
Growing up, i'd considered making a career in photography & promotion however healthcare was calling my name! As a nurse, I've cared for others from birth & beyond. Spending my time in Home Care, Skilled/Long Term Care, Assisted & Memory care. I've now found my place as a part-time Nurse in Occupational Health. I also work a few hours here and there as an early childhood program nurse.
Nursing has helped me in my journey as a mother, wife and has given me advantages and sometimes what felt like disadvantages as a caregiver in my family. My nursing career, becoming a mother and caring for family has brought out more of my emotional side for sure. Although I will willingly shoot about anything, I feel like I have found my home with lifestyle photography and photographing things that are truly important to people. Life is so precious. Real life is something that should be held onto and felt in the future when you look back at the photographs. I feel like this is ART to me.
Being a mother and wife is what I am most proud of. I continually strive to incorporate creative photographic practices into documenting our lives. The highs, the lows and in between. I want to provide this service to my clients. I'm nearly always up for a relaxed session at your house or wherever you are in your element: living life, creating, loving and feeling!
I love collaboration and enjoy working together with clients and other creative artists! I wish to continue to grow to improve my processes and to continue to meet new people that help enrich our lives.
